41: Take care of myself before I can take care of others
Welcome to Woman Leadership show. I'm Janet and in this episode, I will be sharing with you the importance of taking care of myself before I can take care of others.
First son – no maid only childcare but will have personal couple time 2nd and 3rd children – maid.
Health - What we eat is important and what we are feeding our body, supplements, good food so we have the energy to sustain the demands of our work and family.
Exercise - Going for walks, walking up staircase and attending some lessons at studio for stretching. With the coronovirus situation now, I can do online stretching and exercise at home with the app that allows you with movement you can do it together.
Time with friends – Will have time with friends catching up like having hi tea, shopping or just having meals
Example – colleague who passed away at work
Colleague who has serious ear infection and hospitalized.
Watching movies and having dinner weekly or monthly so to catch up with each other and having time out from the children. At home, the kids would want my attention especially youngest one.
Takeaway
Take care of ourselves by spending ME time regularly be it reading a book, having pedicure and manicure, having relaxing massages or spa, talking walks spending time with friends. Just having the special time connecting with my soul and heart.
Do not give excuses that others need me and I need to be there 24/7. We want to be feel needed and so available anytime when everyone needs me, I will be there. Have big rocks in our lives are scheduling ME time for ourselves so we can continue to recharge and reconnect with us and having more space and breather to connect with others. Otherwise we will feel overwhelmed, exhausted and angry with ourselves and our love ones which we also don’t want us to go into depression after long periods of exhaustion and breakdown.
I hope that through my sharing, it draws inspiration and personal reflection for you. I believe every woman can be a leader in your own way. I look forward to seeing you in my next episode where I will be sharing with you tips and ways to realize your full potential as a leader on Woman Leadership.
